Every once in a blue moon you come across a movie trailer that absolutely blows your mind.  The recent Inception trailers (yea, all of them) clearly fall into this category.  The latest one is visually-exciting, ominous, and literally makes you beg for more.  I have to admit, it’s been a while since a trailer sent shivers down my spine, and the fact that it’s a Christopher Nolan film makes it all the better.  The film will be released next Friday, July 16, 2010.

Zack Hemsey is the composer of the score for these trailers.  The score is frequently mistaken for Hans Zimmer’s, which is understandable given that a) in one of the trailers the score closely mimics the Joker’s Theme from The Dark Knight; b) it’s for a Christopher Nolan film, and c) it’s just so awesome.  In fact, Zack just recently opened a blog with the first post humorously titled “I am not Hans Zimmer.”

Maybe not, but he may be the next best thing in the category of upcoming new artists.  I’d be curious to know what he could come up with for a Star Trek series.
